Because I wanted to help people.

What do you love about your current job?
The fact that every day is different and I never get bored.

What does a typical day in your current position look like?
Wake up with a plan and then change that plan 20 times before the end of the day.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your first year at Youth Villages and how did you overcome them?
It was stressful to get through to some families who were convinced that nothing could help their child. But if you are consistent and strength-focused, the parents begin to realize that they can make changes that will improve their children’s behaviors and, in return, change theri famioly dynamics as well.

What benefits or advancement opportunities have you taken advantage of?
I have always kept an open mind about advancement opportunities because this organization is constantly expanding, and there are always opportunities for advancement.

What is one piece of advice you would give someone who is considering working for Youth Villages?
If you love children and families and want to help them live together successfully, this is the place to do it.

What has been the most rewarding experience so far at Youth Villages?
Seeing families start to do well, especially when other had doubted that the family could made crucial changes.
